About Sojourner Imports
Sojourner Imports' goal is to facilitate importation of wine and spirits professionally and successfully.
This includes making the process as easy and streamlined as possible. We understand state regulation. It is our job to satisfy all requirements of the states we serve and answer questions producers may have about the process. We become partners with you by saving time and money as each state has their own list of requirements to be met. Ie: brand registration, product cola’s, wholesale assignment and monthly reports. Sojourner Imports has a Federal license for Wholesale and Basic Permit as well as Colorado Import license. Additionally, Sojourner Imports is licensed with the Nebraska Shippers permits. There may be circumstances where licensing in other states may be possible.
Sojourner Imports was established in 1984. Phil Lockwood, owner, spent 12 years as wine buyer for a mega store, Applejack Liquors, in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Bringing success to the store created the opportunity for travel to many of the top wine growing areas of the world. Introduction to some of the world's best producers established relationships that opened the opportunity to create Sojourner Imports.
We successfully conquered the challenges of the new company start-up through research and connections within the industry. Years of knowedge have been poured into this company. We pride ourselves on experience in the industry, customer service and helping to make our customers successful. Sojourner Imports portfolio has over 100 suppliers and remains successful today.

Phil Lockwood is married with three successful adult children. To that, he also has three grandchildren who will seek careers after completing their university education. The family prides itself on education, dedicated work ethics and the pursuit of happiness.
